KIRYU ALOHA
Yuzen chintz L
Yuzen chintz L
From the fine chintz pattern dyed with Yuzen.
The chintz pattern is a pattern that originated in India and has a history of over 4,000 years.
It means "beautiful" or "better" in Hindi. It is also said that the origin of the word is the Indian word ``sarasa'' (beautiful fabric).
During the Edo period, many cultural figures in Edo enjoyed exotic chintz patterns by changing imported chintz patterns into Japanese styles.
This is a kimono from the mid-Showa period, and it has an attractive chintz pattern that is boldly hand-drawn in bright green, giving it a modern Showa feel.
Yuzen - A dyeing technique that was created by reproducing the painting style of Miyazaki Yuzensai, a fan artist from the Edo period, in dyeing fabric. By applying glue to the outline of the pattern, a detailed painterly style is created. Yuzen, which is completed through at least 12 to 15 steps, is a work that brings together various techniques of artisans such as dyeing, embroidery, and gold painting.
