KIRYU ALOHA
Blooming rose L
Blooming rose L
From a kimono hand-dyed with luxurious Western roses.
The rose motif is representative of the Taisho Romantic and Showa Modern cultures that flourished from the 1920s to the 1930s.
At that time, Western roses were coveted flowers imported from overseas, so it became popular to use them as patterns on kimonos.
It can be said that this design comes from an era when people tried to successfully incorporate Western culture into kimonos.
This kimono is purposely dyed using Japanese colors to harmonize with the pattern.
